Kingsbury Coffee Morning: Day Out at Wembley Park, 100 years ago

9 July @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join Philip Grant from Wembley History Society, and experience a one day tour (from a 1924 guide book) round the exhibition, in pictures.

In 1924, Wembley Park hosted the British Empire Exhibition, a huge “theme park” showing off Britain’s Arts, Industry and Engineering and giving millions of visitors the chance to see the people and products from over 50 nations around the world, which were part of what was then seen as the British Empire.

In this centenary year of the event, join Philip Grant from Wembley History Society, and experience a one day tour (from a 1924 guide book) round the exhibition, in pictures and from the comfort of your library seat.

Trauma and legacy of the British Empire set to be explored from 2024:

This event is affiliated to the ‘Becoming Brent’ project, a hard-hitting new project to mark the 100th anniversary of the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley Stadium which received funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
