Safeguarding Adults: The Essentials

Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility. We need to consider service uses whilst in our direct contact and within the wider context in the community. By protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect we have to maintain professional curiosity using a strength-based approach in implementing the Care act.

Learning Objectives

  1. Overview of adult safeguarding
  2. Define safeguarding under the care act
  3. Recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Be able to name the types of abuse
  2. To recognise the signs and symptoms.
  3. How to relate these signs and symptoms to their role
