DESCRIPTION:Online Workshop for organisations looking to apply for CVS Brent’s We Wear Heritage Project or the National Lottery Heritage Fund\n\n\nThe Heritage Skills Training course aims to encourage and equip Brent voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises to apply for funding from the CVS Brent’s We Wear Heritage project or the National Lottery Heritage Fund to develop and deliver their own heritage projects \n \nAbout the training \nThis workshop looks at how to work with schools and what to do to engage with teachers and pupils in a heritage project. You will also cover ways in which to increase the participation of different audiences in a heritage project. You will also gain awareness of: \n \n· How to produce specific outputs for a community heritage projects\, such as websites\, exhibitions\, heritage walks or podcasts \n· Mapping local audiences – who you are reaching now and how you can reach new audiences \n· what publicity and co-designing outputs will increase participation. \nWho should attend \n \nThis session is suitable for any trustee\, staff member or volunteer in the Brent borough who is responsible for planning and managing projects or who is thinking of developing a heritage project. \n \nCVS Brent is leading on a heritage project called We Wear Heritage\, which as a community grants programmes. Any Brent organisation wishing to apply for a grant will need to attend this heritage skills training course to be eligible to apply for a heritage grant. \n \nThis training course will also equip organisations interested in applying directly to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a grant to develop and deliver a heritage project. \n \nTrainer \nEastside Community Heritage (ECH) has been delivering community projects and training for over twenty-five years. We have expertise in delivering cultural heritage projects and training and specialise in oral history. The process appears intimidating and in this course we will explain what’s involved and unpack some of the terms used. \nYou will learn about what the public sector is and what services they buy. We will cover the procurement procedures and tendering stages using Brent Council as an example so that you will become familiar with the public procurement process.
