This vibrant and rich history of Black music, located in the London borough of Brent, depicted through storytelling, performances and interactive exhibit.
Documenting Brent’s Black Music History
Taking place at The Library at Willesden Green this fascinating event celebrates the rich history of black music in Brent, especially in the area of Harlesden. This incredible film captures associated artists, producers, radio stations, record labels and shops in Brent.
In 2007 local voluntary group BTWSC worked with Brent Museum to launch the Heritage Lottery Funded-ed ‘Brent Black Music History Project’ (BBMHP) DVD and book.
17 years on, we review these resources, which captured Brent associated artists, producers, radio stations, record labels and shops, and look to update the information. So whether you are an industryite or music fan, if you have some information to update the information captured in the BBMHP resources.
BTWSC is a Brent-based pan-London organisation. Its mandate is to develop potential of individuals, especially the socially disadvantaged, through the use of the creative arts. BTWSC runs projects for young people as well as adults.
