Community Preview – Revisiting the British Empire Exhibition 100 Years On

Come join us for a special community preview at The Library at Willesden Green in the Exhibition Space on the 2nd Floor.

Following research on the collection of the British Empire Exhibition held at Brent Museum and Archives, we invite you to a special community preview of “Becoming Brent: Revisiting the British Empire Exhibition 100 Years On.”

This exhibition aims to delve into our collective histories, explore Brent’s rich cultural heritage, and reflect on the legacy of the British Empire Exhibition held in Wembley in 1924 and 1925.

What Are We Trying to Achieve?
Over the next 3-4 weeks, our goal is to:

• Collaborate with local communities to ensure this exhibition reflects diverse voices and lived experiences.
• Gather valuable feedback on the exhibit’s themes, narratives, and interactive elements to make it more meaningful and impactful.
• Encourage dialogue around Brent’s historical and contemporary identity, encouraging cultural exchange and learning.

How Can You Be Part of This?

• Preview key aspects of the exhibition.
• Share your thoughts, feedback, and ideas on how to enhance its impact.
• Connect with other community members who are passionate about Brent’s heritage.

Community Preview Details:

• Date: 13 January to 28th February – the exhibition will be refreshed for the beginning of March based on your feedback.
• Time: Monday to Friday: 10:30am to 8pm. Saturday: 10:30am to 5pm. Sunday: 12pm to 5pm.
• Venue: The Library at Willesden Green. 95 High Road, Willesden. NW10 2SF.
