VCSE Connect Forum
Join us for a two-part event with the first half dedicated to exploring climate change initiatives within Brent and understanding Brent Council’s ‘Cleaner and Greener Brent’ priorities. Designed for non-profit organisations, community groups, and residents who are passionate about making a positive environmental impact in their local area and would like to learn how they can access funding streams in support of their projects.
The second-half will be dedicated to the launch of the new South Kilburn (SK) Community Chest Fund 2025, proudly funded by Vistry and collaborating with CVS Brent. This event marks the opening of a new grant aimed at empowering local community groups, charitable organisations, and residents to develop and deliver community-focused projects that enrich the lives of local people and enhance the surrounding area.

Part 1:
- Climate Change Initiatives in Brent: Learn about the various climate change projects and initiatives currently underway in Brent. Discover how these efforts are contributing to a more sustainable and resilient community.
- Cleaner and Greener Brent Priorities: Gain insights into Brent Council’s ‘Cleaner and Greener Brent’ priorities, which focus on creating a cleaner, greener, and more environmentally friendly borough. Understand the key objectives and strategies that are driving these priorities.
- Accessing Funding for Climate Change Projects: Find out how your non-profit organisation can access funding for climate change-related projects. We will discuss available grants, application processes, and tips for successful funding proposals.
Part 2:
- Funding Priorities: The SK Community Chest Fund supports projects that promote financial wellbeing, enhance community and green spaces, amplify community voice, expand youth activities, and boost wellbeing initiatives.
- Grant Levels: Two grant levels are available – Micro Grants (up to £5,000) for community events and ad hoc activities, and Small Grants (£5,001 – £10,000) for longer-term projects.
- Application Process: A streamlined, single-stage application process with bid writing support and a diverse grant review panel ensures consistent and equitable decision-making.
- Bid Writing Support: Learn how to access bid writing support and training tailored towards the application questions and guidelines for this grant
