Volunteers and community heritage projects

22 January @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Online Workshop for organisations looking to apply for CVS Brent’s We Wear Heritage Project or the National Lottery Heritage Fund

The Heritage Skills Training course aims to encourage and equip Brent voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises to apply for funding from the CVS Brent’s We Wear Heritage project or the National Lottery Heritage Fund to develop and deliver their own heritage projects

About the training

During this training workshop we will look at the importance of volunteering and its benefits both to the volunteer and the heritage project. What needs to be

considered when working with volunteers, including recruitment, engagement, management, policies, good practice and retention. This session will help you to:

· Know what is best practice in policies and procedures on volunteering

· Managing volunteers assigned to assist funded community grantees via the We Wear Heritage project

· Understand good practice around safeguarding and volunteers.

Who should attend

This session is suitable for any trustee, staff member or volunteer in the Brent borough who is responsible for planning and managing projects or who is thinking of developing a heritage project.

CVS Brent is leading on a heritage project called We Wear Heritage, which as a community grants programmes. Any Brent organisation wishing to apply for a grant will need to attend this heritage skills training course to be eligible to apply for a heritage grant.

This training course will also equip organisations interested in applying directly to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for a grant to develop and deliver a heritage project.
